President Rumen Radev Received the Ambassador of Great Britain Emma Hopkins

Head of State Rumen Radev received the Ambassador of Great Britain to Bulgaria Emma Hopkins at 2 Dondukov street today. The meeting was also attended by Martin Harris, Director for Eastern Europe and Central Asia in the Foreign and Commonwealth Office.

The talks focused on holding the forthcoming NATO summit in London, the cooperation in the sphere of defense and security, and also on topics on the bilateral relations agenda. The Head of State also emphasized the need for our country to build up modern defense capabilities, to overcome the lagging behind in a lot of areas and also the need for the efficiency of decision-making within the Alliance to be enhanced.

Guaranteeing the rights of our compatriots in Great Britain in the post-Brexit period and also those of the British in Bulgaria, was also among the topics discussed at the meeting.
