The Head of State Discussed the Partnership Prospects of the Three Seas Initiative with Representatives of the US Chambers of Commerce in Central and Eastern Europe

President Rumen Radev and representatives of the US Chamber of Commerce in Bulgaria discussed the prospects for increasing the US investments in Bulgaria in areas with a high added value, promoting youth business training programs and implementing more joint projects in the area of digital connectivity in Eastern Europe, at a meeting held at 2 Dondukov street.   The Chamber unites over 330 US, Bulgarian and multinational companies that develop economic activity in our country and is member of the US Chamber of Commerce and the European Council of American Chambers of Commerce (AmChams in Europe).

The American Chambers of Commerce in Europe voiced support for the Three Seas regional initiative with the Declaration of Ljubljana in 2019 and are ready to support its Bulgarian chairmanship in 2021, it was emphasized at the meeting. The Three Seas aims to promote transport, energy and digital connectivity in Eastern Europe as part of the common European market, and a number of high-tech US companies are already showing interest in partnership and investing in it.

The economic and social cohesion in Europe is an obligatory condition for the sustainable development of the EU and requires active educational and scientific exchange, Rumen Radev said. In the President’s words, the forthcoming Bulgarian chairmanship of the Three Seas in 2021 will focus not only on transport and energy connectivity but also on regional exchange in education, science and innovation.
