GALAB DONEV
Galab Donev was born in 1967 in Sofia.
He graduated from the 35th Russian Language High School in Sofia. He holds a Master's degree in Finance from the UNWE and a law degree from the Angel Kanchev University in Ruse. Specializes in Business and Management at the UNWE.
From 2005 to 2006 he was Acting Secretary General of the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy. From 2007 to 2009 he was a member of the Supervisory Board of the National Social Security Institute. In 2008 he became Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the National Institute for Conciliation and Arbitration.
From 2001 to 2007 he was Director of the Directorate for Working Conditions and Crisis Management at the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy.
From 2007 to 2009 he was Executive Director of the Executive Agency "General Labour Inspectorate", and in 2009 he became Deputy Chairman of the State Agency "State Reserve and Wartime Stocks".
From 2014 to 2016 he was Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy. Among the positions he held after that were Deputy Director of the Administrative and Information Services Directorate and Deputy Director of the Internal Audit Directorate of the Ministry of Defence.
He held the post of caretaker minister of labour and social policy in the Caretaker Government appointed by President Rumen Radev in January 2017. From May to December 2021, Galab Donev was deputy prime minister for economic and social policies and caretaker minister of labour and social policy in both caretaker governments appointed by President Rumen Radev.
He was appointed Secretary for Social Policies and Healthcare of the President of the Republic of Bulgaria by Decree No. 120 of 9 May 2017. In the second term of President Rumen Radev, he was appointed Secretary for Social Policies and Health by Decree No. 19 of 22 January 2022. He was reappointed Secretary for Demography and Social Policies by Decree No. 97 of 30 March 2022.
On 2 August 2022, he was appointed caretaker Prime Minister of the Republic of Bulgaria by Head of State Rumen Radev. He also holds the post of Prime Minister in the caretaker government, which took office on 3 February 2023.
