KRUM ZARKOV

Krum Zarkov was born in 1982 in Sofia. He graduated from the 9th French Language School "Alphonse de Lamartine" in Sofia. In 2007, he graduated as a Master of Laws from the University of Paris 1 "Pantheon-Sorbonne" in International Law and Law of International Organisations. In the same year, he received a course diploma from the Institute of Political Science - Paris, France.

From 2007 to 2010 he was engaged in research and scholarly activity at the Centre for Research and Studies in Public International Law of the University of Paris 1 "Pantheon-Sorbonne". In 2010, he joined the Commission for the Identification of Criminal Assets as a legal inspector. 

In the 41st and 42nd National Assemblies, he worked as a Senior Expert Assistant to the Committee on Internal Security and Public Order. From 2014 to 2016, he was an expert assistant to the Member of the European Parliament Georgi Pirinski (Group of Socialists and Democrats). Member of the National Assembly and member of the Committee on Legal Affairs in the 44th, 45th, 46th and 47th National Assemblies.

He held the post of Minister of Justice successively in the two caretaker governments of President Rumen Radev, taking office on 2 August 2022 and 3 February 2023 respectively.
