ZORNITSA APOSTOLOVA

Zornitsa Apostolova was born in 1975 in Sofia. She completed her secondary education at the 91st German Language School "Prof. Konstantin Galabov" in the capital.

She holds a Master's degree in International Relations from Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski" and a Master's degree in International Relations and European Studies from Central European University, Budapest.

From 2004 to 2022 he worked at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, where as a diplomatic officer she successively held various positions in the field of public diplomacy, bilateral relations with neighbouring countries, regional cooperation, etc. She worked at the Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria in Ankara, Republic of Turkey, and at the Consulate General in Istanbul. In 2016-2020, she was Head of the Consular Service at the Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria in Copenhagen, Kingdom of Denmark.

In the period 2021-2022, she was Special Coordinator for Bulgaria's candidacy for membership in the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD).

She has been appointed Foreign Policy Advisor to the President of the Republic of Bulgaria by Decree 133 of 13 May 2022.

She is fluent in English, German and Turkish.
