Petar Petrov (2008)
Petar Petrov was born on 19 June 1974, in the town Veliko Tarnovo. Between 1988 and 1992 he was a student at the School of Electronics and in 1998 he graduated as master in the Faculty of Mathematics and Informatics at Sofia University, St. Kliment Ohridski. From 1996 to 1998 he worked in "Info microsystems" Ltd., Sofia. In 2004, he defended his doctoral dissertation at the Computer Science and Engineering Faculty at University of California, San Diego. From 2004 he worked in the University of Maryland College Park as an assistant and later as a teacher. Author of 48 international scientific publications, over a dozen of which have found place in prestigious scientific journals. He participated in 34 international scientific conferences. His works are in the field of low-power microarchitecture organizations, system algorithms for distributed access to cache memory, configurable architectures and operating systems for them. Founder of an international working group on the use of specialized processors and editor of publications on IEEE in this area. He is a member of the program committees of several international IEEE conferences, reviewer of international scientific journals (8) and international scientific conferences (15).
