TSVETA TIMEVA

Tsveta Timeva was born on 8 March 1969 in Burgas.

In 1988, she graduated from the Kolyo Ficheto Construction Technical School in Burgas.  In 1993, she graduated from the Higher Institute of Architecture and Civil Engineering with a Master's degree - Civil and Industrial Engineer. She graduated in Industrial and Civil Engineering - Structures.

She received training in the framework of the Partnership for Roads programme in the Netherlands. In 2013, she completed training courses at the Institute of Public Administration (ENA), Paris, and in 2014 at the National Institute of Public Administration (INAP), Madrid, and at the Institute of Public Administration (INA), Lisbon, on the topics of "EU Structural Funds Management" and "EU Structural and Cohesion Fund Project Management".

From 1997 to 2000, she worked as a project designer in the private sector. 

From 2001 to 2015, she worked at the Road Infrastructure Agency, and in the period 2001 - 2011, she held various positions in the Directorate for Operation and Maintenance of National Roads. In the period 2010 - 2011, she was a project manager under OP "Regional Development".

From 2011 to 2015 she was Director of the Directorate for Project Implementation under the Operational Programme Transport and Cohesion Fund. As a member of working groups, she participated in the development of OP "Transport and Transport Infrastructure" 2014-2020 and in the discussions on the Partnership Agreement 2014-2020 between the Republic of Bulgaria and the EU.

From 2015 to January 2017, she worked as a consultant in organising and coordinating activities for the preparation, procurement, management and reporting of projects financed by EU funds.

She was appointed Secretary for Regional Development to the President by Decree No. 57 of 24 January 2017. In the second term of President Rumen Radev, she was appointed Secretary for Regional Development by Decree No 23 of 22 January 2022. She was reappointed as Secretary for Regional Development, Tourism and Ecology by Decree No 98 of 30 March 2022.

By Decree No 210 of 1 August 2022, she was appointed Secretary-General to President Rumen Radev, with effect from 2 August 2022.

She speaks English and Russian.
