Bulgaria must assume clear commitments to its energy security and diversification. This is what President Rosen Plevneliev told journalists in Warsaw. President Rosen Plevneliev will visit Ukraine soon, it became clear after the Head of State held a meeting with the newly-elected President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko. The two presidents held talks within the top-level forum in Warsaw, dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the democratic changes in Central and Eastern Europe.

At the NATO summit in Wales to be held in the autumn, Bulgaria should reconfirm the commitment it assumed within the Alliance to reach a level of spending on defense and security worth two percent of the GDP. The other NATO member states should do the same, President Rosen Plevneliev commented, who summarized for journalists in Warsaw the topics on the agenda of the talks held with leaders from Central and Eastern Europe and the US President in the Polish capital, where 25 years since the beginning of the democratic changes in Poland are marked.

“Bulgaria supports Poland’s idea for creating a European Energy Union and will continue working to ensure diversification and cohesion of the energy infrastructure in Europe,” President Rosen Plevneliev told journalists in Warsaw. The Head of State emphasized that next year our country will have to finish the construction of the inter-connectors which will connect it to its neighboring countries.
