Manifestations of xenophobia and anti-Semitism in Europe cannot be tolerated and need to be condemned by the institutions and the civil society. This is what President Rosen Plevneliev declared before journalists, after he met in New York with representatives of Jewish organizations in the USA. The President underscored that it is inadmissible to use “hate language” and extreme nationalistic rhetoric by political parties in EU Member States.

The legislation that individual countries adopt in response to climate change has to be supported by action on an international level. This was the appeal made by President Rosen Plevneliev in his speech today at the Climate Change Summit meeting, held at UN headquarters in New York. The Head of State underscored that climate change occurs on a global scale and requires a global response.

The Bulgarian projects for inter-system gas links with Greece and Turkey should be considered as an inseparable part of the Southern Gas Corridor, allowing for considerable gas supplies to Bulgaria and neighbouring countries such as Romania, Serbia, and other countries in Europe, declared President Rosen Plevneliev in his speech during the ceremony for the start of the construction of the southern Gas Corridor.
