President Rosen Plevneliev received Thierry Repentin, French Minister Delegate for European Affairs, who is on an official visit to Bulgaria on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the emblematic breakfast President Francois Mitterrand had with Bulgarian dissidents, intellectuals and students.

“The success of any South-East European country is success for the whole region,” Rosen Plevneliev said today at a meeting he held with Lulzim Basha, mayor of Tirana and leader of the Democratic Party of Albania. During the meeting the Head of State reiterated Bulgaria’s support for the European prospects of the Republic of Albania.

The Bulgarian and Albanian Chambers of Commerce and Industry will strengthen the dialogue between them so as to seek new business partnerships which will considerably exceed the current level of the economic trade between the two countries. This is what became clear at a meeting held between President Rosen Plevneliev and representatives of the business circles in Tirana, where the Head of State is on a two-day official visit.

The Balkans are lagging behind in their “connectivity” compared to the Central and West European states and this requires that they strive to achieve more pragmatism in their bilateral cooperation and to produce more results when implementing the projects common for the region. This is what the Presidents of Bulgaria and Albania Rosen Plevneliev and Bujar Nishani called for at their joint press conference.
