By the end of May President Rosen Plevneliev will issue a decree whereby the 42nd National Assembly will be convened. This is what the head of state said on the occasion of the end of the early general election. Promptly after parliament is constituted, the President will start consultations with the parliamentary groups to form a new government in compliance with the procedure stipulated in the Constitution.

It has been five years since the crisis began and it is unlikely to end any time soon. It started as a financial, it grew into a political, a social and ultimately into the most difficult one to solve – a debt crisis and crisis of trust and confidence.

We know what our problems are, we do not try to hide them and we do our best to solve them." These are the words whereby President Rosen Plevneliev summarized the situation in Bulgaria at the forum in Washington dedicated to the cross-Atlantic link in the new era.
