To build success, you must demonstrate it, President Plevneliev told Bulgarians in Seattle

Judge us by what we do, and if the results are good, spread the word, President Rosen Plevneliev told representatives of the Bulgarian community in Seattle in an address last night at the Pacific Institute. At a meeting with Bulgarians working in large US companies in the region, President Plevneliev urged them to promote Bulgaria’s success. Our compatriots abroad very clearly see the priorities and already know what to ask politicians in Bulgaria, he said, and declared “a new kind of politics, where promises are kept”. He said that this would stimulate civic energy and contribute to a stronger society, with institutions that work and are responsible.

“To improve the business climate in Bulgaria, we need to limit the chances that business would have to beg for administrative services,” the President told the Bulgarian community in Seattle. To this end, the main tool is the development of e-government, the President said.

The Bulgarians put questions to the President about improving the environment for entrepreneurship, measures to attract investment, improve the quality of education and incentives for qualified professionals to stay in Bulgaria. To create more and better paying jobs it is essential, as a priority, to have institutions that work properly, and an honest and open approach to investors. Our successes should also be recognised, the President told the Bulgarians in Seattle.

On the third day of his visit to the United States, Rosen Plevneliev will be in San Jose. The President will visit the headquarters and laboratories of some of the largest US IT companies, as well as the NASA Research Park in Silicon Valley.
