Bulgaria and the US share a common vision of the risks and threats to security in the region and globally. This became clear at a meeting between President Rosen Plevneliev and the Director of Central Intelligence Agency of the United States David Petraeus, who visited Bulgaria from June 5 to 7.

At the meeting, Mr Petraeus praised the level of co-operation between the CIA and Bulgarian intelligence services. Bulgaria’s contribution in the reconstruction missions in Iraq and Afghanistan was emphasised.
