Head of State Rumen Radev Discussed the Migration Crisis in Europe with His Hungarian Counterpart President Janos Ader

Hungary is Bulgaria’s close friend and important partner and the two countries managed to establish an excellent cooperation not only in all spheres of their bilateral relations, but also in terms of the EU’s agenda. This is what Head of State Rumen Radev said at a meeting with his Hungarian counterpart Janos Ader in Warsaw.

The talks held between Presidents Rumen Radev and Janos Ader focused on the challenges related to the migration crisis and the need to pursue an efficient common European policy in this area.

President Ader reaffirmed Hungary’s support for Bulgaria’s accession to the Schengen area. “Bulgaria makes consistent efforts to exert a strict control over and protect the external EU borders,” President Rumen Radev emphasized. “The Balkan route should not remain in the shadow of the Mediterranean. Bulgaria is particularly endangered because it is in the front line,” the Bulgarian Head of State further said at the meeting.
