The Head of State Discussed with the Leadership of the Defense Ministry and the Bulgarian Army the Measures for Protecting the Health of the Servicemen and the Performance of the Tasks of the Armed Forces in a State of Emergency

President Rumen Radev discussed at a meeting held at 2 Dondukov street with top military officials the measures adopted to guarantee the health of the servicemen and preserve the potential of the Bulgarian Army and Armed Forces to fulfil their responsibilities related to providing combat duties and staff training in conditions of an introduced state of emergency because of the coronavirus.

The meeting was attended by Defense Minister Krasimir Karakachanov, acting Chief of Defense Vice-admiral Emil Evtimov, General Lyubcho Todorov, Commander of the Joint Forces Command, Major-general Michail Popov, Commander of the Bulgarian Land Forces, Major-general Tsanko Stoykov, Bulgarian Air Force Commander, Brigadier-general Mitko Grigorov, Director of the Logistics Directorate at the Defense Staff.

The Head of State was assured that measures have been implemented to timely monitor the health status of the staff and work is done to ensure protective equipment for the formations of the Bulgarian Army, which continue to perform their tasks. The military formations preserve their potential for participating in actions to assist the population in avoiding and overcoming the consequences of disasters, accidents and catastrophes and also to perform tasks related to the protection and defense of sites of the critical infrastructure.
