World leaders congratulate Rumen Radev on his re-election as President of the Republic of Bulgaria

President Rumen Radev has received congratulatory letters from heads of state from all over the world on the occasion of his convincing presidential election victory and his re-election as Head of State of the Republic of Bulgaria.

The Bulgarian Head of State has been congratulated by the President of the Federal Republic of Germany, Frank-Walter Steinmeier, the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, the President of the Republic of Poland, Andrzej Duda, the Austrian Federal President, Alexander Van der Bellen, the President of the Italian Republic, Sergio Mattarella, the President of Hungary, Janos Ader, the President of the Hellenic Republic, Katerina Sakellaropoulou, the President of the Republic of Cyprus, Nicos Anastasiades, the President of Portugal, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, the President of the Slovak Republic, Zuzana Caputova, the President of Romania, Klaus Iohannis, the President of Croatia, Zoran Milanovic.

Congratulatory letters were sent by King Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Emir of the State of Qatar, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and by the Sultan of Oman, Haitham bin Tariq Al Said.

Congratulations were also received from the President of the Republic of North Macedonia, Stevo Pendarovski, the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, the President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, Nguyen Xuan Phuc, the President of the Republic of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, the President of the Republic of Yemen, Abdrabbuh Mansur Hadi, the President of Palestinian National Authority, Mahmoud Abbas, as well as many other heads of state, heads of government and representatives of international organisations who sent letters to the Bulgarian Head of State or congratulated President Rumen Radev in telephone conversations.

In his congratulatory address, the President of the Federal Republic of Germany, Frank-Walter Steinmeier, sends warm greetings to the Head of State and the Bulgarian people. The serious challenges facing Europe require a united and sustainable European Union. Europe needs a strong and capable Bulgaria, the German Head of State wrote and expressed hope for a further development of the good cooperation between the two countries within the European Union, NATO and in relations with the neighbouring countries of the Western Balkans.

In his letter, Russian Federation President Vladimir Putin points out that the convincing election victory testifies to the trust in Rumen Radev by the Bulgarian citizens. The Russian President hopes that the work of the Bulgarian Head of State will further contribute to the development of constructive Russian-Bulgarian relations.

I very much appreciate our personal cooperation and mutual understanding on issues important for our part of Europe. I also know that you are a sincere and loyal friend of Poland, Andrzej Duda, President of the Republic of Poland, stresses in his congratulatory address to Rumen Radev. Andrzej Duda expresses wishes for the well-being of the Bulgarian people and hopes for ever closer cooperation, friendship and mutual respect between the two countries.

Your re-election fills me with confidence that the excellent relations between Austria and Bulgaria will continue to deepen in the future. I am very happy that we will keep on working together to maintain and expand them, says Alexander Van der Bellen, Federal President of the Republic of Austria.

King Abdullah II bin al-Hussein of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan sends his heartfelt congratulations on the occasion of Rumen Radev's re-election as President, which, in his words, confirms the people's confidence in him and the institution he represents. I look forward to continuing to work for the development of bilateral cooperation to serve the common interests of our countries and peoples, King Abdullah II says.

In his congratulatory address, the Emir of the State of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, wished prosperity to the Head of State and the entire Bulgarian nation. Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani hopes that the friendly relations between the two countries will continue to develop and strengthen.

In his letter to the Bulgarian President, Italy's President Sergio Mattarella, expresses the hope that bilateral relations will be further strengthened by increasing the intensity of political dialogue and economic and cultural cooperation. Our two countries are called to work together for the development of the European Union and NATO in a spirit of shared values and support, Sergio Mattarella writes.

I take this good opportunity to confirm that I deeply appreciate the cordial bilateral relations that bind our two friendly countries and to express my gratitude for your work in strengthening the rich range of contacts between us, Hungarian President Janos Ader wrote to the Bulgarian Head of State.

In his letter, President Stevo Pendarovski assures President Radev that the Republic of North Macedonia, sharing the vision of a stable and prosperous region within a united Europe, is determined to develop and promote good-neighbourly relations and to deepen and strengthen cooperation between the two countries. I would like to express my strong conviction that our neighbouring countries and peoples have much more common things than things that divide us, says Stevo Pendarovski.

Romanian President Klaus Iohannis congratulates President Rumen Radev and the Bulgarian people and hopes that Bulgaria and Romania will continue to work closely for the promotion of bilateral ties and for maintaining security and stability in the European Union and the region.

I believe that we will continue to pool our efforts to expand friendly relations, cooperation and strategic partnership between our countries, the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, said in his congratulatory message.
