Radev: Bulgaria highly values Algeria's role as a factor of stability in North Africa and the Mediterranean

Bulgaria highly values Algeria's role as a factor of stability in North Africa and the Mediterranean and as a crucial partner in ensuring reliable supplies of energy resources to Europe in the conditions of crisis, head of State Rumen Radev said today at a meeting with President Abdelmadjid Tebboune of the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria on the sidelines of the 27th Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP27), hosted by Egypt.

The two presidents highlighted the partnership in energy, agriculture and food production, pharmaceuticals and cosmetics, as well as the defence industry as particularly promising areas of bilateral cooperation.  The Bulgarian head of State underlined this country's interest in holding a business forum between Bulgarian and Algerian companies in the near future to discuss the implementation of joint projects.

President Tebboune expressed Algeria's readiness to deepen the bilateral partnership in the energy sector, including through the supply of liquefied natural gas to Bulgaria.
