President Radev: Bulgaria Will Continue to Support Montenegro on Its Path towards European Integration

Montenegro has a key role to play in the European perspective of the Western Balkans; therefore Bulgaria will continue to support the country's efforts and reforms on its way to full membership of the European Union as an example for the whole region. This is what President Rumen Radev said at a meeting with the visiting Speaker of the Parliament of Montenegro, Danijela Djurovic.

The two highlighted the friendly relations and the active high-level political dialogue between the two countries, united by deep cultural and historical ties. This is an excellent basis for fostering cooperation in areas of reciprocal interest, was the common position expressed during the meeting. There is already a positive trend in trade, which has marked a 106% increase in the first ten months of 2022 compared to the same period of last year. Industrial production, tourism, information technology, security and military training were highlighted as promising areas for bilateral cooperation.

Danijela Djurovic expressed appreciation for the expert and political support Bulgaria is providing to Montenegro along its European path. The Bulgarian President and the Speaker of the Montenegrin Parliament were unanimous that the excellent institutional cooperation should continue, regardless of the pace of the political processes in the two countries.
