Head of State Rumen Radev Holds a Session with Representatives of the National Defence University of the United States

The Head of State Rumen Radev held a meeting in Sofia with representatives of the National Defence University of the United States, who are visiting as part of a regional tour and as part of the military training programme CAPSTONE.
 
During the meeting, the complicated security environment in the region and the challenges arising from the military conflict in Ukraine, the modernisation of the Bulgarian armed forces, and the strengthening of our country's defence capabilities were discussed.
 
During the session, the key role of cooperation between Bulgaria and the United States in the field of security and defence was highlighted, as well as the improvement of the preparation of personnel through the application of modern forms of training for Bulgarian service people. The need to accelerate the transfer of technology between the two countries and the development of industrial cooperation in the field of defence was also emphasised.
