The start of the negotiations on Serbia’s EU accession offers new prospects for thoroughly strengthening the partnership between Bulgaria and Serbia. Bulgaria and Serbia should build relationships based on mutual understanding and a vision for development which represents their common future. This is what President Rosen Plevneliev said at the meeting he held with Ivan Mrkic, Foreign Minister of Serbia, who is on an official visit in Bulgaria.

Bulgaria has missed the opportunity to become a regional leader in introducing e-government because for 15 years it has failed to conduct the administrative reform that will provide for introducing it. This is what President Rosen Plevneliev told the participants in the eighth annual meeting held between the business circles and the government titled “Guiding Bulgaria to the right track.” The Head of State and the President of Estonia Toomas Ilves attended the annual forum in which representatives of the business circles and the government, experts and journalists took part.

The European Union must pool efforts to promote its internal integration and to build a more competitive economy. Only if Europe is integrated, can it play a role on the global scene. This is the common position the Presidents of Bulgaria and Estonia Rosen Plevneliev and Toomas Ilves agreed on.
