Bulgaria will intensify its cooperation with Azerbaijan in the energy sphere. The country is among the most important partners of Europe regarding diversification of gas supplies. This is what President Rosen Plevneliev said at a meeting with Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev. The Bulgarian Head of State is on a two-day working visit to Baku on the occasion of the official ceremony regarding the start of the construction of the Southern Gas Corridor.

“The Provisional government is working towards holding free and fair elections, but no less responsibility for the transparency of the election process lies on the political parties who are fighting for the confidence of the Bulgarian citizens”. This was declared by President Rosen Plevneliev who held talks today with representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe at 2 “Dondukov” blvd. The Parliamentary Assembly will be among the observers of the early parliamentary election in Bulgaria on October 5.

No country can guarantee its safety on its own. Bulgaria will be strong only if it is integrated into the family of democratic countries, said President Rosen Plevneliev at the opening of the Centre of Excellence in investigating, building and improving NATO capabilities in Crisis Management and Disaster Relief as an international organization within the Alliance. This is the first NATO structure on Bulgarian territory and part of the network ?? Centres of Excellence of the Alliance. It is the result of the joint efforts of Bulgaria, Greece, Poland and the Allied Command Transformation in Norfolk.

“A stable peace cannot be achieved through military means. A solution to the crisis in Ukraine can be achieved only if the country’s rule of law, sovereignty and territorial integrity are observed.” This is what President Rosen Plevneliev said at the top-level meeting of the NATO-Ukraine Commission held in Wales. The Bulgarian Head of State is on a two-day visit in the United Kingdom to take part in the NATO summit.
